Sports Relief at Simon Balle

We have had a very successful week of Sports Relief at Simon Balle where all students were given the opportunity to participate in the Sports Relief mile. Assemblies also ran throughout the week. Half year groups ran the mile in their lessons and also contributed towards the Sports Relief charity. The top boys time was Lawrence Barltrop (5.36), year 12 followed by year 11 student Shaun Munoz (5.37). The leadings girls were both from year 7 with Danielle Hills running 6.44 to Louise Reilly’s time of 6.47. On Friday we also had a very successful tug-o-war competition at lunch-time where the year 11 girls and year 11 boys shared the prizes of Sport Relief water bottles. Our star fund raiser was Georgina Braggins who ran 10 miles throughout the day to raise well over £50 at the time of writing, well done Georgina. The day finished with a staff volleyball match after school. A big thank you to everyone who ran the mile and supported and promoted Sports Relief over the past week.
